Nice pics. Funny i did the same thing with a mourning dove last night that got stuck in the barn and couldnt find its way out in the dark.

So, THAT'S what it is, a red-bellied woodpecker...

I guess it's that little red spot on its tummy that gave it its name, because a link in the wiki article shows that the red-headed woodpecker (which is what you think it would be) is very different...
