SP 1400 Epson Printer problem.
I have an Epson SP1400. It is a six color printer and it has done a good job for the last three or four years.
It quit printing yellow. I cleaned the heads and put in a new cartridge and the same problem.
No yellow in the prints. Looks like I had a bad cartridge or the printer tubing is obstructed.
I hesitate to buy a new cartridge just to see if the one I put in was bad. It was a year or two old.
Is there any fix this other than getting a new printer?
Any suggestions for a new six color printer?
I prefer to stay with Epson, but am willing to change for a good reason.

You 'new cartridge'
was old a year or two before you used it after purchase? In case you are not aware of it,
cartridges have an expiration date.
Try running the Head Cleaning function (probably under Setup) multiple times. My Epson printer jammed up due to my brief use of non-Epson ink cartridges. The Head Cleaning function finally cleared it up, bit it took multiple trys. I'm using Epson ink only now.
Rongnongno: Thanks for the heads-up on expiration. Epson says 6 Mo. after opening and
two years shelf life before opening. User experience has shown these are conservative estimates.
Rjaywallace: Thanks for the tip. Ran head cleaning six times and it cleared up.
