Are you doing your Panoramas in Horizontal orientation?

Dave, what is the size of this file that you would use for print?

Yes, this one was shot in vertical format. I don't shoot everything in vertical though. If I need more height in the shot I will switch to vertical. If I have enough coverage in the horizontal format I will often stay with that. Switching to vertical is like putting on a wide angle lens for a normal shot.

Rich,
The PSD file is about 800 MB, which covers a finished image at 15" X 60". When converting it to a JPG at that size the file is 70 MB. I have not printed it at that size though. I did print it at 6" X 20" and the file is 16 MB at that size.
(just a side note, I was printing two so I built a 16" X 20" image and put two files top to bottom and got the two prints out of one 16 X 20 print).

Thanks Dave. I did have a ulterior motive for asking. Recently I was working on a stitched file that was about 500MB and while working I kept waiting for my computer to slow down or show some sign of stress. Nothing. I was worried about how many images we could deal with but now I can put that to rest for me and my computer..
Did you experience any slow downs at 800MB?

I can tell it's working and it does take a little time to stitch etc. but it seems to keep moving forward, but it does get there.

I certainly like the span of the imager but, for my taste, too much saturation and too sharp

People who are interested in stitching and panos might be concerned about file size. I wanted to bring it up to show that it should not be a problem.
