IMO, best to do a multi-exposure HDR to retain details in Moon and landscape .....I would do it in camera with a Sony otherwise, join together in PP.

That would be a good time to take a trip to Hawaii. On the west coast we will see totality before moonset, but will not see the moon come back from the shadow of the earth. Here is a simulator you can use for your location: Google "timeanddate Eclipses in New York, New York, USA" for the simulator - it should be right at the top of the search. I did not use a link to avoid having your post moved to the Links and Resources sub-forum.
I really like that first shot.

...I’m trying to figure out do I want to do an exposure of the moon first and then the landscape or vice-versa...?

Not a problem SkyKing. I just hope it's clear as we haven't seen the sun in the coastal bend since Christmas day.😞

...sorry to hear that...we’ve had beautiful clear nights here on the east coast...it’s been cold but we’ve been ice skating on the pond under beautiful moonlight and welcomed in the New Year skating and drinking champagne...
