I got there several hours early, trying to save a place by the pond to catch the reflections of fireworks. As it got dark I realized a problem, I couldn't get both into one frame. Other than that, this was my first attempt to capture fireworks.

comments are welcomed and so are your photos of fireworks.

I had the same problem! It was my first fireworks and I wanted it all planned out, but... A bit close for me also...

Good shots and there is always next year... Hopefully we both remember to back up a bit! :)

DC, It is a learning process. Unfortunately we have to wait a full year to compensate for our shortcomings this year.

I already have next year's venue picked out. With water and better fireworks than this small town had. Here's a pick of where I will be next year. The only problem is I will have to stake my claim out hours ahead in order to have the spot I want.

I also took a bunch of fireworks pics for the first time last week- which look a lot like yours by the way (very nice). Now what to do with them? On my way home from the Phillies game last night, I stopped in downtown Philly to take a pic of Independence Hall. Now I'm going to play around and try and figure out how to superimpose the fireworks above I.H. Anybody else have any ideas with what fun you can have with shots of fireworks?

Photoshopped to bring in the pond you mentioned.
I am not a fan of reflected fireworks. Distance away puts the bursts so far away that detail is lost.

I think you did well.
