I took this shot in the Lake District, from a spot known as Surprise View. It's actually in the opposite direction to the 'view', but the way the fell towered over the farmstead attracted me.
It was at a bit of a distance and rather misty. This is the best I've managed with it. Your thoughts on it appreciated. Please Download to view.
For anyone interested in this area of the UK, I have posted a series in Gallery (too many for critique, I wouldn't want to bore you!). www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-504917-1.html#8526728

Fantastic sense of scale. Love the composition and somewhat soft or muted colors and details which give a bit of magical feel to an already impressive scene. Wouldn't change a thing!

Hi, Dave,
I’m aware that you have trouble viewing these 3D versions, but I am hoping some who are able to successfully view such examples will check out the great 3D effect of your wonderful image.

Be sure to see the download for easier 3D viewing.

Dave

Love the colours on the hillside. What a lovely view to have every day.

Leave it as it is. Perhaps sit there for the next 6 weeks and hope to catch a better light / shadow, but don't touch this! I like the curve on the fellside being uniform right across the image and the scale is breathtaking despite our mountains being quite modest.
Excellent spot, executed well.

Thank you Bob, I might revisit that spot, it has some potential I think.

Yes, it was the scale that attracted me Linda. I would like to be there now, they've had quite a bit of snow I hear.

Thanks for trying it Dave - the images seem closer together than you normally try? Doesn't help me of course! I hope someone who can see it it will respond.

So many lovely views up there APL - I'd move there but they get just a bit too much rain for me and too many cold days for my wife. Thanks for commenting, its appreciated.

Thanks for your comments John. Must be nice there at the moment, given recent snow fall.

This is a beautiful scene, very nicely composed and captured. I think the vertical presentation perfectly presents the scale of the scene. I like the soft background. I think more clarity would detract from the mood.

Yes, I preferred the portrait layout to conventional landscape for this one - it emphasises the scale of things I think. I played around with crop for quite a while though - there’s plenty more hillside in the original.
Thanks for commenting Steve.
