Capture One Pro and SmugMug Workflow - Please Help

I am a Lightroom subscriber who really likes the Capture One Pro trial and thinking of switching. However, I am a frequent user of SmugMug and am trying to determine the best way to send a portfolio to SmugMug. Lightroom has a built-in “publisher” which makes it easy to send a large number of photos to SmugMug. I would appreciate any advice and/or best practices from experienced Capture One and SmugMug users.

Have you considered Flickr? It’s great for sending sets, portfolios, etc. Smug is a good source if you are wishing to sell prints, etc.

The more you get use to it, the more you will like Capture One.

Select the files you want to go to Smug mug, then export (File/Export) in jpeg of your chosen size and quality to a folder, and then upload to Smugmug.

Yes! You can set up a custom batch 'Process' in CP1 for your SmugMug exports only. See the window below. You 1st select all of your files you want to export in the browser; click on the 'gear' icon to open up the window. Make your choices in all other drop down menus; and when done-- at the bottom; open Process Summary and hit 'Process'. I do the same workflow to export to Apple Photos for Shared Albums. Once satisfied and completed, I delete the exported files from my 'iCloud Sharing' folder.

Thanks for all of the great responses. I have tried Linckinn’s method and it certainly works. Jbk224: please explain the advantage of the “batch” process. Is it simply the difference in saving to the cloud vs my desktop/hard drive? Or are there other advantages?

Thanks again to all for your help.

Sure Wm.
Batch means that you are processing/exporting more than one photo. You can select all the photos you want to upload to your sharing site; and then apply the same 'process' to all of them at one time. They will all be exported to the location/folder that you have specified (usually on your desktop). It is from this folder that you export/import to your sharing application. Every sharing application has their own protocol for uploading to the site. The folder you created for the processed pictures from CP1 is now your target. Easy to keep track. FYI...after I have uploaded to iCloud shared folders, I delete the pictures in this folder. No need to keep them and take up space on my hard drive.
