On our way home yesterday
I did that once on my Suzuki GS 450, just to experience its awesomeness, (and to get to Virginia). Didn't like having to pay 9 whole dollars to do it, but glad I did.
It’s $15 now but still better than the deadlock on 95 from DE
Its a cool route but try the toll in a tractor trailer

KOOL, try going thru one of the tunnels when a ship or sub fires off a sonar ping!
Done that a few times on my Harley. Fun

Did you pull over or take the shot while you were driving?
We didn’t pull over, my husband was driving. I’m not that coordinated ;)

I used to go over the old bridge no problems. For some reason, now that I'm older, bridges like that make me nervous.
So that picture was actually a look back over your shoulder unless you were in the back seat.
Nice catch!

We usually cross the bridge twice a year when we go to OBX. Last year we arrived at the VA. Beach Pull off site before the first tunnel just as a Navy Sub & tender were comming thru the channel, headed to Norfolk, quite a sight to see go by.

I'll bet that was. I have a son that lives in Va. Bch. USN Retired. I think I saw a freighter or two, but nothing military.
Navy ships are quite impressive. He was on the USS BonHomme Richard. LHD 6. Wow!
When I was in the Navy (1967-71) I lived at Oceanview and would drive my VW up to NYC, Boston, etc. For a kid from Texas, the bridge tunnel was a big deal. Need to do that again some day.
When I posted this picture, I guess I expected comments regarding the quality of the picture, good or bad. What I got, however, were triggered memories and sharing of those memories. In retrospect, I think that is so much better than an analysis of the photo. Thank you all for sharing your stories.

Is there a riddle here, "bridge tunnel?" Which one??
Both. Check out Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel on google.
