Hi, daily reader but first time poster. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about ARSENAL, a new AI assistant advertised on Facebook. It's from a new kickstarter outfit. It claims to analyze and adjust numerous variables such as; motion, camera shake, changing light, takes multiple shots, etc. It works through a cell phone or tablet and allows for remote trigger. It even makes coffee!! (kidding). It appears to be an amazing addition. Is it? And it attaches to the flash mount so it appears that flash cannot be used with it. Any thoughts? Thanks

Welcome to our forum!

This question has appeared several times, but I don't think it has gotten any rave reviews. It's a Kickstarter, but I seem to recall seeing a price in the $200 range, which seems a bit high.

Why would anyone who is a photographer want something that removes them even further from the act of creating a photograph? Next thing will be a robot that will take the camera out and bring it back with machine analyzed images so the owner can claim they are a great photographer.

I'm not trying to demean you. It's the intrusion of more gimmicks that replace the basic skill of knowing the rudiments of photography and how to apply them in making a photograph that I find questionable.

I have been looking at the website of the company. Most of those features are already standard features in the high end cameras so no need for an extra gadget to use them. Reading the camera manual will in many cases do the same for the photographer as using this gadget after reading the manual for it. I see no use for this personally but maybe it is useful for some.
