You are new to the forum. Welcome, and congrats on your new D750. A good telephoto lens for your full frame D750 will be the FX 28-300mm. As far as macro, there are many good ones to choose from. Including third party. I'll let others advise you on that one. Merry Xmas to you too.

Every one that goes out and buys a new camera asks the same question, first Merry Christmas and Happy New year, good luck with your Nikon 750. Give us some idea on what you like to photograph, will it be indoors or out. do you want a prime lens or zoom. are you looking for a wide lens or normal or long zoom, as for Macro they come in wide, normal and long telephoto.

I have been using a canon FTB from 1973 and taking photos of everything. I will learn this camera so I may be apt for all photos. I enjoy photgraphy immensely.
I want to thank everyone for their advise. I will experiment with all types of photography.
Everyone have a merry christmasand a happy new year

Welcome to UHH and congratulations on your new camera.
I use the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR lens with a Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E III 1.4x for telephoto and a Nikon AF Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D lens for macro.
Good luck and have fun.
Mac

I agree with mas24 the FX 28-300 is an excellent lens for the D750. It is my normal carry lens for my 750.

24mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8 from Nikon, without reservations. Maybe a do everything 28-300mm, look at the Nikon version but also consider the Tamron for size, weight and price. I use it on a D750. A great travel lens. These types of lenses get a bad rap--used within limits they can be very good.

Nikon 50mm f/1.8, but not the sharpest for a prime. Still useful. Small and inexpensive. Tamron 45mm f/1.8--has VR and sharper, but bigger and heavier. Also weather sealed. Worth a look.

I should add the Tamron 150-600mm G2 for telephoto. For full frame macro I use an old manual ais lens.

I also have a D750 and I had the 28-300 but traded this lens for a Tamron 150-600 G2 series. You may want to look at the new Tamron 100-400 for Nikon.
For a macro take a look at the Tokina 100mm. It is moderately priced at around $350 new (I think).

The Tokina 100mm macro has been mentioned several times on this forum as a winner. I borrowed a friend's Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro for portraits. That's a good lens too. Both have 1:1 magnification.

Merry Christmas to you also. The Nikon D750 is the most under rated and one of the best Nikon bodies OUT OF THE BOX. Congratulations.

I just wish it did not have one of those anti-aliasing filters.

The 300mm f/2.8 is one of the best. Get a set of TCs for even more reach (it's great with all three, 1.4x, 1.7x, 2.0x)

The 105mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor is very good, but the 200mm is even better.
