I am writing a Christmas Musical with a buddy who is composi g tge music. It is to be staged during the holidays, 2018. The story is set shortly after the first world in a economically depressed area of Brooklyn, New York.
I could use some help locating photos of life in the 1920's. Besides WWI photos, photos of kids playing, school photos, towns, etc.
I want to enlarge them to poster size for lobby display so digital copies would be great so I can work with them on my computer.
My buddy and I are both Vietnam Combat Veterans.
Thanks for your help.

Google perhaps. NYC Libraries. Depressed? You mean mostly after 1929. Europe was depressed right after WWI, 1918 -
? There was a 18 month recession in the US from January 1920 to July 1921. The quick check that I just did of NYC turned up mostly pics if there were children in them from the 1930's. Seems most old pics of NYC are of the buildings, but I am sure there are other sorts out there.

Thanks for the information. By depressed, I meant poor. Probably could have used a better term.
Thanks again; I'll follow up.

Just to see, I Googled “Photos New York 1920” and came up with a selection. Pinterest appears to have over 100 such photos. I don’t know what it costs to get access though.

Good luck.

Try "Luminous Lint". They have just about every type of old photos you can think of.
Or just go to "Bing" Images Type in what you are looking for.
Good luck
Manny

There are many books of photos of that era in New York City, but you need to be aware of copyright issues.
Thanks for your service, and best of luck! >Alan
