Testing the EOS M5

As a Canon 80D user, I have interest in using something a bit lighter and to see how the mirrorless cameras perform. So I am now in the middle of a 7 day rental of an M5 and I must say, I like it a lot. Fits nicely in my hand and much lighter to carry around. I did quite a bit of research first between the M5 and M6. I'm old school so I prefer a view finder plus the rear screen is a touch larger on the 5 than the 6 so I chose to rent the M5. Along with the camera I also chose to rent the lens adapter for my current EF and EF-S lenses. I attached a couple samples from yesterday below.
The M5 could become a Christmas present to myself soon.

Do you like shooting silently?

The photos are interesting.

Did you also rent one of Canon’s mirrorless lenses for the M5?

Respectfully, the image of the ‘decorated puppy’ seems a bit dark. Were you experiecing any problems with low-light shooting using the M5?

The adapter has a tripod shoe. How does the balance feel when using a larger (heavier) EF or EFS lens?

No, I did not rent an EF-M lens, but I wish I would have. And I didn't have the flash on for the shot of our little Izzy. She was in my office area and I also didn't have any lights on.

No bad, actually. So far I shot with my 18-135 EFS lens and my 50mm. The little added weight from those lens didn't bother me.

Not so much the weight as the balance, but if you’re not using anything other than those two, probably nothing one would notice. I looked up the series of M lenses and didn’t see any fast lenses— so the adapter with EF EFS Glass is likely a decent option for now.
Thanks for,posting your opinion.
