NCAA Div. 1 National Women's Volleyball Championship

The event was held at the Sprint Center, Kansas City, MO.
The Final Four included Florida State v Stanford; and Nebraska v Penn State.
The Championship game was Nebraska v Florida; Nebraska won.
It was amazing to see almost 20,000 attending a women's volleyball game!!
It was equally amazing to see the great athleticism of the participants on all four teams. Their quickness, speed, stamina, super quick reflexes, jumping height, arm and torso strength, and both individual and team play was impressive and totally engrossing to watch.

Thanks Jules. It's a more popular sport than one can imagine.
Watching it at this level is intense.

Very nice shots. What lens and settings did you use for the action shots?

I was visiting family after a 1500-mile trip to Kansas City, so I left my DSLR at home.
For travel, I use a Canon G16, a discontinued P&S with a fixed short zoom lens, set on Auto.
I did some cropping and minor edits using Windows Photo Gallery. I was sitting at the highest section.

Nice results with a P&S but looking at photos again, I see that they are not as sharp as with a DSLR.

I shoot local college Volleyball and being close up to the action is really thrilling.
I like the lens used by the pros in the last shot.

I used a Canon G16, fixed zoom lens, 28-135mm, then some perimeter cropping using Windows native Photo gallery.

Types of injury in NCAA women's volleyball.
https://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/NCAA_W_Volleyball_Injuries_WEB.pdf

FYI: The outside hitter suffered the most injuries (38.7 percent) for all positions...

Although unlike women's soccer volleyball is not typically thought of as a contact sport there is however a risk to participants... Why? The venue's floor is a rigid and non-yielding surface... Sadly the long term effects of these injuries are what keeps the orthopedic surgeons in business and btw do not show up in the aforementioned Injury Analysis...

This NCAA analysis with injury prevention guidelines is an excellent read for anyone with family and/or colleagues in competitive volleyball...

Thank you for sharing Nosaj
I wish you well on your journey...
