I recently discovered this site and subscribe to it. I thought I'd pass it along to my fellow drone pilots or anybody interested in the hobby. Some good info.

Thank you for the link. I wonder how many operators are unaware that the FAA has, once again, changed the registration regulation. In that I already have a previous drone registered I would think the least they could do would be to email the notice of change to all existing registrants!

I'm also registered. I expect the rules to change practically every day. I would like to get FAA licensed for commercial use of my drone but I figure by the time I study and pass the test it will be obsolete and I'll have to start over.

It's a jungle but it's what I expect when dealing with a government agency. I'd like to get into real estate photography using the drone. I've done some photos but not for profit. Just for friends and I've taken photos of public areas just to build a portfolio. I'm flying the Phantom 3 Advanced. Pretty good camera on it.

Nicely done. I have the Mavic Pro which I really like. No plans to do anything other than shoot for my own enjoyment.

I filmed a fly over video last week during the "Blizzard" of 2017 in central Alabama. Our once every ten years snow event. We got about three inches. Nothing for you folks in Michigan but it's a state of panic in the South. I find it comical after spending two winters in Colorado but at least I have the roads to myself. Everything shuts down. Even the police aren't on the road unless there's an emergency. I haven't even had time to review it but I'll put it on YouTube or Vimeo and post a link. It was my first time to fly in almost three months so I was a little nervous but it was like riding a bicycle. Got the props on, set the GPS, and got the video feed confirmed in less that five minutes. I flew out about a mile and half at about 250 ft.

I took a look at your Flickr page. Awesome!!!! You've obviously been able to travel a lot. I wish I had had a drone when I lived in Colorado but that was before home computers, cell phones, GPS, etc. I got around the back country in the Rockies with a compass, topo maps, and a little common sense. I think back to some of places I went solo and realize I was crazy. It was basically break a leg and die. But I was in my early twenties and invincible.

Thank you for your kind comment. Yes, we've been fortunate in being able to travel a great deal. It's been a priority all of our married life (51 years). I've always believed that experiences were more important than things, so we prioritize accordingly. Don't know how much longer we'll be able to continue, but will have a lot of memories when it ends. Taking the drone to Arizona for the winter and hope to be able to find places to use it.

Plenty of nice scenery in Arizona. I used to subscribe to the Arizona Highways magazine. Some great photography in there. I've started shooting more stills with my Phantom. I used to do still captures from video but the picture quality is much lower that way.
