I have heard and seen a lot about Bosque and had a chance to add a couple of days to a business trip to the area. Lots of birds, and the folks at the refuge were very helpful.

#1 and #4 James. The pair in #1 taking off are beautiful with the mountains in the background, and the #4 is a great shot of the crane looking at us.
Good bird in flight pics.
Thanks for the kind words.
Like them all....especially #4.
Wonderful captures. Did you feel the 5d4 was as capable as the 7d2? For BIF I mean. Did you use the same lens on both bodies?
Loved number 2. Great shot!
They are different cameras each with their pluses and minuses. I wanted the 7D2 for the high frame rate and focusing ability and used it primarily on the Sigma 150-600. The crop factor on the 7D2 provided an equivalent focal length of 960 mm. I have a 1.4x for the Sigma but have not been happy with the images. I used the 5D4 for closer in work with a 70-200 f 2.8 L with a 1.4x giving me the 280 mm focal length. I love the new 7D and it has the same focusing as my 5D4 so I don't have to re-learn anything.
Thanks I have more, but will post a few in a couple of days.
