The OP previously stated that the photo was shot in RAW mode.

Reading all posts up to this point and the OP does not mention RAW. Also Deanie1113 has not responded to anyone.

Look at the second post. She says it was raw. I believe fill flash would have taken care of the problem. But after the fact, she just needs to post full image. Then someone can help to maybe fix it.

I am struggling with outdoor lighting. There's brown triangles on the sides of the older girl's face. The younger girl's face is washed out, and the dad is just splotchy. They're all so pale and odd-looking it's been horrible to try and edit this series. Using a brush in LR to warm them up doesn't get rid of the splotchiness. This was taken in shade at 4 p.m. with the sun behind and to the right a little of them. F 4.5 1/50 ISO 110. WB was set to cloudy on my Nikon D5500. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

Did you use any "Off-Camera" Flash? Even though it was outside and lots of Ambient Light, a Flash might have assisted with those issues you had mentioned, maybe bounce the Flash, Shoot thru an Umbrella to soften the light, a good, proper balance between the Ambient light and the Flash is said to produce good results.
I am just now as a newbie learning about Flash Photography myself and these are a few things I am learning are important, please let us (me) know when you find the solution to your Photo issues and what you find helpful.
Please contact me in the "Private Message" on the UHH forum. Your input and hopeful resolve to your image issues will be of great assistance to others here at UHH.

Using an off camera flash with an umbrella or soft box would add some depth to the picture. The shade lighting used is just flat. If off camera Flash is intimidating, go to the Strobist site and take a look at his lighting 101-103 “courses”. It is all free and self study and chock full of great info to improve your photos.
