PINK Cameras ? ... There seems to be a recent trend to revert back to colored cameras ... would you buy such a camera?

OK...found it! It's a Farrari branded Hasselblad HD-50, Limited Edition, displayed at Photokina in 2011. At that time they announced that the HD-60 will go to 200 megapixels. Gotta love that in any color.
I have a very extensive Hasselblad (film)system which I am going to digitize- older bodies and lenses with a new back!
How much did the Ferrari edition cost? I couldn't find any information on that, besides a note saying that it was about $ 10K more than regular non Ferrari version.

The Hassy HD6D (100mp) DSLR goes for $30,000.00 ....
The 200mp version has to be twice that ...
The Ferrari Special Edition, I'll bet - has to be somewhere in the middle ...
A good guess, Paulie - would be around 50 grand ...
Google it!

I am a gal under 65 and I would NOT buy a pink camera - but alas, I am odd and like everything electronic of mine to be black - even my iPhone.
Ah ... but you probably WOULD use it, if one were given to you, huh, Deer?

Nikon, Pentax, Fuji and others - have now turned their attentions to satisfying their female users with hot pink cameras ... do you think this'll sell?
They have been selling these for more than 10 years, yeah, if they're still around, I guess people keep buying them!

The Childrens Museum in Indianapolis has a Lionel {model} train of pastel colored cars; apparently they were operating under the theory that boys would want cars that looked like the real thing, but girls would want pastel cars. This product line was a failure. I'm surprised anyone would expect pink cameras to do any better.

I suspect Lionel missed the boat, there. They should have done an analysis of the market, first - to see if girls even WANTED to play with electric trains - never mind the color they were! Somehow, I think they goofed on that score.
But, cameras are different. Heck, RE - have you even noticed all the color and style variations females want for their cellphones?
So many folks on here are saying cellphones are IN ... cameras are out ... so, this is a way for camera manufacturers to get back into the field, n'est ce pas?

As a non-female user, I don't know.

Well, John ... let's say you'd wanted to buy a camera for a female to get them interested in photography ... might you buy a pink one for the little lady?

A flat-out "No" John? ... But, have you ever looked at it from HER perspective?
Now, think ... does she use a pink cellphone?
