The Royal Zoological Society Scotland is hosting an exhibition of Giant Lanterns from China's Sichuan province at Edinburgh Zoo. The Zoo's two Giant Pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang on loan from China have been a big success in terms of visitor numbers. However their hopes of successfully breeding the pair have so far come to zero. They don't particularly get on and she is only fertile for something like 36 hours in every 12 months so these lanterns are probably the closest we'll get to seeing panda cubs!
