Now 81 Retired at 45 in 1980. Keep learning new things. Join / visit a model train club. I did & it will teach you lots of new things. Above all keep busy. Volunteer Find three or four things you like and go for it. Enjoy each day, because we never know when it will be are last.

I'm in same situation but realized that Life is too short and its time to enjoy my Family, My Goals that I had Worked for,and enjoyment of My new Lifestyle.
Remember that You won't be able to do stuff that you did when you were in your 30's but there's plenty to do , enjoy your new Lifestyle !

so enjoy this day while it lasts!

I retired at 59, took a year off then went back to work for two more years until I was 62. The reason I retired at 59 was that I reasoned if I was scared to do it at 59, I'd be terrified to do it at 67. I really enjoyed my job and was well paid, but people around me kept being wheeled out of the building on guerneys, toes up. At one point I just felt I'd be one of the next ones to go.
Finances are important naturally, but I have always planned ahead. What I did was closely monitor my income and spending every month on a spreadsheet. I realized that the annual figure was most reliable as expenses tend to vary wildly month to month. I figure out how much I needed to retire on and then for a couple of years I lived on that figure, banking the rest. So I knew my retirement income would be adequate. Bear in mind, my wife and I don't travel, rarely go out to restaurants. We enjoy our friends and kids and grandchildren. My wife is a great cook. I enjoy simple things. We each have our own hobbies and pursuits but we also enjoy some of the same TV shows, playing scrabble, gardening. I've been fully retired 9 years and my wife has been fully retired 11 years. We enjoy the freedom to do whatever we want, with no time schedules, not having to commute, etc. We downsized to a smaller house about 50 miles south of NYC when we retired. We live well on our SS and my pension. Haven't touched our savings.

If you don't know what to do with a bit of free time, just sit down where your wife can see you. You'll know soon enough.
I worked until age 70 and am enjoying myself more than I anticipated.
