But people nearby were wondering. Galveston has some challenging curbs.
He reminds me of Jed Clampett. The guy left seems amused too. Good B&W work.
Neat hat and beard. It looks like he had a perm on the beard it is so curly. Good timing with one foot on the curb and one in the air. I just have a feeling that old boy could tell some good tales of times past.

Thanks, dragonfist. And I'll bet you're right about the stories.
Navigating with a bottle in hand.

Hi jaymatt,
I blew it up on screen and while it is a bottle I don't think it looks like a beer or liquor bottle. I had the impression it might be but rather doubt it now. I thought the other guy had a bottle of Jack Daniels, square bottle, but upon closer examination it appears to be an ice tea that is sold in square bottles. We even have that tea sold in stores here in upstate N.Y. it is definitely a nice photo no matter what is in the bottles.

Thanks, jaymatt. It's medicinal, of course.
Is Galveston a good hunting ground for street shots?

Stanhope, yes it is. It's a beach-type vacation place, and they make an effort to attract visitors. This year, I went to their Mardi Gras festival, Artoberfest, and Dickens on the Strand. In all cases, they block off a number of streets, and two of these are costume events (and beer and wine are for sale on the street). They also have some smaller events which I have not yet attended. Also, their Strand area (where most events are held) has that old-fashioned look. So, over the course of a year, there are a lot of photo opportunities.
Is there a museum about the Flood?

In an idle Sunday morning moment and as a distraction against jobs I really know I should be doing but don't want to start, I decided to find out if Galveston has anything flood related. The bad news is, it doesn't appear so but they do have lots of other stuff. Here is every museum in Galveston listed, all 14 of them:
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g55879-Activities-c49-Galveston_Galveston_Island_Texas.htmlIf I am telling you things you already know then please ignore the next bit. A few years ago official tourist sites world wide were getting concerned that their particular sites were being lost in the sea if information, so they decided on a new convention. They would preface the name of the town or city or general area with the word 'Visit'. In this case it would be Visit Galveston. Otherwise they still use the older convention of 'Official Website'
Here is what Galveston has to offer:
https://www.galveston.com/Now if you go to another of Voss's Galveston Photos Trouble Ahead-
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-502235-1.htmland expand the photo, you will see that the lady in the foreground is wearing a neck band which says “Galveston Historical Foundation” so I looked them up and here is their website.
http://www.galvestonhistory.org/If anybody is going to know, it will be them. If you are interested enough send them an e mail.
Is it not an incredible thought that even though I have never been to Texas, I can sit here in Antwerp and do all of this. For me it was just a diversion, I hope it is of interest to you. Now back to the jobs.

I think so. In the past, I've seen advertisements to come to a particular place to see a movie of the flood. It probably also includes museum-type stuff, but I haven't gone there. Also forgot to mention two other annual events: a motorcycle rally (haven't been yet), and Oktoberfest (went to that).
