Two of these are very close crops. Do you think they are OK!
C & C welcome.

I definitely think the first pic is cropped a little close. It looks like the baby's head is being squeezed. I like the second and third one. There's something about the last couple that seem a little off to me, but I'm not exactly sure what. Maybe someone else has an idea on those.

Thanks for your interest Tea8 I'll post a less tight crop for comparison.

They're all nice poses. Number two seems to be the only one with sharp focus on the eyes. In the others the eyes seem a little soft. Otherwise -very nice.

This one I like better. If you cut much more out you will be listing that sense of who's holding her. I know it seems like she is ver small in the photo but the really tight crop is just too tight. Maybe next time when taking the pic you could try a little bit of a different angle and then get closer and not have to crop too much.

#1 you've cropped to much and it's causing pixelation of the image. Noise Reduction software might be able to help some but you've cropped 2/3 of the of the image and tossed those pixels in the trash. Better to zoom in and use the pixels than drasically crop.
#2 I like this one, the eyes are sharp. It's a nice capture.
#3 the skin tone looks off, the baby looks a little to washed out for my liking.

Thanks MWAC your comments are helpful and to the point. i was unsure of the skin tone on 2, but hadn't noticed 3. i will see what I can do about 3. Any ideas about processing 5. the baby had a seriously red skin condition.
I like #2 the best. #1, as everyone has said, is just too cropped. #2, I feel, that the ear on the left stands out too much and distracts from the focal point of the face. #3, even though it is a tad soft, which is ok for baby pictures, leaves dead space on the left side so the eye remains fixed on the baby and nothing else.
Here is what I did with the other baby:
1. Patch tool on the cheeks to smoothe it all out. Had to use a smaller section at a time.
2. Hue & Saturation adjustment. (did not use hue)
3. Highpass filter for sharpening. That really made the eyes pop.

thanks CajonPhotog for your comments and editing. I'll try a different crop with 2. I like what yo did with my great nephew. I'll have another go using your info and try if I can do better.
