I found a Nikon 300mm f4 ED lens in a thrift store for $35. The only thing wrong with it is the AE lock button is broken. I took this photo through the glass of my storm door but I still love the sharpness of this lens. The camera was a Nikon D200 that I recently purchased from KEH for $144.

Nice photo. I don't see camera equipment in the thrift stores in my locality. For an investment of $179, you did quite well. KEH is a good place to shop too. I see you know that already.

Yes KEH is great, almost as good as thrift stores ð. Here is another taken with a domestic animal, no need for the glass barrier.
