Anyone out there still using a D70? If so, is it possible to take a 5MB photo with it?

Look at DPReview web site. They have almost all the cameras listed, including the old ones.

I have a D70S which was my good camera when it first came out. I took a quick look at the properties of about 50 photos and they average somewhere between 2.7mb to 3.5mb. I won't say it is not possible to reach 5mb but I would say it would be highly unlikely. Have a GREAT DAY.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check that out. You have a great day as well.

Full size raw images from a D70 are 3008 x 2000 pixels.
This is over 6 million pixels ( 5.7MP)
The size on disc is 5.25MB

Thank you. Because I was told I needed to provide a photo 5MB or larger and the best camera I have is my old D70. I was thinking it might be time for an upgrade but didn’t want to waste money if I could get away with what I have. I will take a look at what you provided. Thanks.

I think you have to look at the wider view: If you are submitting a photo, I think you will have to think about it a little.
It is doubtful you will submit a raw (nef) file so a typical jpeg (uncompressed) is about 3.4 MB or a 16 bit tiff (uncompressed) is about 34.5 MB.
The best result (for your requirements) I came up with was to save as a 8 bit tiff image with zip compression which was 7.2MB
If, on the other hand you are looking at megapixels, then any method of saving is good - 3008 x 2000 = 5.7 MP (1 MP = 1024 x 1024)

Thank you. That is really helpful.
Whoever asked you to submit a photo of 5MB or larger didn't ask correctly.

It is a graphic designer from a magazine. That’s all I know.
