OK, I have experienced an odd occurence using my camera that I can’t explain but know one of the wizards in here can.
A short time ago I took my son back to his apartment in the East Village. His cats had been spending time with me and we needed to get them back to their city life.
While there we visited the 9/11 Memorial and I shot some pictures with my Canon 7D Mark2. Here’s where it gets weird...
When I got home and downloaded the images I saw where two .mov files had been created. I’d only taken one short movie in the park of the waterfall/fountain memorials in the WTC1 & WTC2 footprints.
The second, unknown video, contained a collage of pictures and video clips...only a few of which were mine. Oddly disturbing....
As many of you know, this camera has the ability for geotagging but, to my knowledge, I have never specifically enabled that feature. If enabled, could it recognize the iconic features of NYC and create its own .mov file using a form of AI? So...
- is Big Brother watching?
- is my camera possessed?
- do I get out my tin foil hat?
- hang garlic or wear a cross?
- cover my camera or tape over my computer’s lens?
Inquiring minds want to know...

Can you tell us something about the images that weren't yours?
They all appeared to be images of NYC...landmarks, streets, etc.
Did you ask your son why he was fooling around with your camera?
--
No....he has his iPhone....

Someone sneaked your camera and used it.
NOBODY SNEAKED MY CAMERA!
This is serious and I need an answer.
My belongings could be bugged...
Russia could be spying on me...
The world, as we know it, could be ending...
Aliens are taking over...
I might be losing my mind...
Since you are sure your son didn't fiddle with it, maybe you should question the cats. The fact that you mentioned them might point to you subconsciously blaming them.

I love cats and would never blame them for anything.
Dogs, on the other hand...
I wonder about unsecured wifi. Don’t know anything about your camera model but do know when I use wifi on my Nikon Df it says unsecured network. Otherwise I’d suspect Daisy, my wife’s devious Jack Russell.
I don’t have the Wi-Fi version on my camera.
This really is a mystery to me.

I've never actually heard of this but is it possible that your particular Canon has gone rogue and become a republican?
That's rare in a Canon since that party are all Nikons!!!
Send it to Canon for a proper exorcism!!!

It s a big movement cover up.You were not suppose to be involved just your camera. Big brother is watching, Aliens are everywhere. You have to watch those Canon's they can do some sneaky stuff.

Did you go anywhere near Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets in Midtown? There are all sorts of inexplicable events that happen near there. Apparently Obama had the place bugged, and who knows what the Russians may have done, or possibly it's just witchcraft...
