Being an old geezer, my days date back to the Rollie-flex and the early Yashica Electro35, my first 35mm camera. It took great pictures when you remembered to take the lens-cap off...
That's nice. Pretty camera...

The optics and shutter speed gave me some interesting pic's of Este's rocket launches, again, when I remembered to take the cap off the lens, sheesh...

When I did photo journalism this was my third back up behind my two Nikon F camera's. Never let me down.

OK. Thanks for that bit of nostalgia.

That was my first 35mm, too. Great little camera. Thanks for the memory reminder!
I'm a always a bit surprised at how heavy this camera is compared to my modern mirror less ones of similar size. But I think that bit of heft contributes some to "anti-shake". Even now, my Yashica Electro 35 is fun to use and performs quite well.
My first 35mm was the Yashica Electro 35 GT (black). I had wide and tele adapters for it. Shot with it for a couple of years, mostly in southern New Mexico and west Texas. It was great for low light, exposures to 30 seconds. Got some great shots in Carlsbad Caverns with it.

When I was in high school, I worked at a local photoshop and sold a boatload of Electro 35s. Great little cameras!

I bought a Yashica 35 in good condition recently just to have fun with. I quickly found out it's not fun. It is totally awkward trying to focus without having some of your fingers hanging out in front of the lens.

Classic. As was the Mat 124G, Yashica's best 120/220 TLR.
No question about it, Yasica Electro 35 was a great camera, why am I saying it was, it still is. Why did I sell it?
My Electro 35 came with a table top tripod. I sold the camera, but still have the tripod. I sold the Yashicamat 124G in favor of a C330 from Mamiya.
And all you really had to do to upgrade was buy the latest entry from Kodak.

Same generation as my first camera a Konica Auto S2. I loved it.
