Admin will have to change the "teaser" question used to draw traffic here. DPReview has a joint review out comparing the Sonya7Riii to the Nikon D850, and in exactly what you would want for traffic-building, they have decided the "which is the best" question depends on what you are doing.

Cameras and lenses will always be compared. My Brand vs your Brand. And as always everyone will have an opinion.

And their review of which was best? It was 'Neither'.......they were judged both equal. However it does seem Mirrorless is where its all headed.

I consider a waste of time to compare brands. Any professional can do marvelous things with any camera or lens he or she handles. The best camera is that one that makes the photographer feel comfortable and has the features that specific photographer needs.
I agree that we all have our opinions so what what could be a piece of trash to you could be my favorite camera.
In my case neither camera is for me. I am very happy with what I have.

If you were to stop using Canon equipment, would you be less of a photographer? Would your pictures also be less than?

You know why???? Because they do not want to lose potential $$$$$ from Sony or Nikon.

Well DUHHH! Of course the choice of a tool depends on what you want to accomplish. If I want to pull a nail, I do not reach for a ball-peen hammer. If I want to shape metal, I do not reach for a framing hammer.

Cameras, like most products, actually are designed with a kind of user and a range of uses in mind.

I mean DUHHH!

Why does common sense seem to be so uncommon?

When the D850 first came out, the user named for a weed was claiming it was the best camera for any type of subject.
