Looking for suggestions for an additional flash for a Nikon D7200 to replace the built in version. General use — portraits and fill for wildlife, etc. Thanks.

I use the Altura AP N-1001. Here is a link to the information on Amazon. It also comes without the triggers if you don't want or need them.

Why buy older technology
Look at the SB5000 and all of its benefits and abilities

I have a 700 and a 910 and can't figure them out completely. A 5000 is premature.

I recently purchased a Godox V860N II and have used it for about a week. Its about the same size as my SB900, recycles in half the time, delivers more flashes per charge, has a greater guide number and is totally Nikon compatible...costs about 1/3rd of the new Nikon flash. It also works with inexpensive Godox radio triggers and receivers (X1T and X1R respectively, and others) as do my 2 SB800s and SB900.

The menu is easy to follow. Additionally, it has a lock down screw for securing it the hot shoe, which keeps it tight on the camera. My SB800s are loose in the shoe even with the locking levers. They are not in danger of falling out but wobble which annoys me.

The power comes from a lithium-ion battery and precludes the use of AA...I'm OK with that, although there is a AA battery model too.

If you are interested in a high end flash this one is hard to beat.

Look this up on UHH and Google. If you are not a professional, they can't be beat. If one fails, I don't know of any but I assume some have, you can replace many of them for the price of a nikon. I bought tow and have not been disappointed. I you want rugged most dependable continual use of a flash, the Nikon may be your choice.

Godox has a much more extensive system if you want to grow.
Get Adorama's Flashpoint-branded version instead - you'll get US-based support.
