Exposure Problems? Not all of the faces are showing up.

I inherited my Great Uncles photo album from 1929-31. He lived in South Dakota. I think he needed to expose this longer to get all of the faces. Like twenty more years.

That's actually a really incredible photo. Not many folks have an original taken during the construction.

As I recall, Teddy Roosevelt is tucked in behind the two left-most sculptures. You'd have to take the picture (properly exposed) from a different location.

Very cool slice of history. But I'm confused. The most finished face seems to be Washington's, but he is leftmost in the current sculpture. Is that another face I see to his left, or an illusion?

Thanks, I've actually been there; just puzzled by what I think I see in the photo you've shared. Google hasn't turned up much more yet....
