I think I was getting too close to him and he gave that 'look'.

Hand held at 800mm. About 125-150 feet (cropped photo).

Canon 5Dsr - Canon 400 II DO f4 - Canon 2x III - 1/320 - f/8 - ISO @ 640.

Their huge talons and sharp beak keep me at a safe distance.

Thank you very much, Robert.

I hope you know I was kidding Regis. Excellent photo as always. A funny story: Our church pastor does our baptisms in the Yellowstone River. As we approached the river there was a beautiful bald eagle perched in a tall Cottonwood tree near the 'baptismal eddy'. Soon enough we all forgot about the eagle and concentrated on the baptism. I walked toward the embankment under the tree...big mistake. I heard the eagle's departure then...I was showered in eagle doo-doo.

This was a very cloudy day and I didn't know if I could get enough photo detail. So, I
am happy with the result.

Thank you very much, Leicaflex.

Thank you very much, guardineer. I have seen the Bald Eagle poo on at least two people that got too
close under a pine tree. Shit happens. Good story from you.

I keep my distance when I see that look. It's rare, but the Eagle could attack you if they think you
are trying to take away their food (fish).

Thank you very much, jaybreeze.
