Jeep Daddy - I don't name the birds because I don't know what a lot of them are. I realize that to you naming them is half the fun. I kind of go along with Shakespeare ... ---What's in a name? That which we call a bird by any other name would look as cute. ---

I used to think the same as you concerning bird names, but I got tired of someone always asking "what kind of bird is that?" So I decided that I would put a little effort into finding out what they were and to keep track of them in Lightroom. That way, I can answer the questions and also so that when I out and about and I run into a birder (of which I'm not) (I'm a bird photographer) that says I see a Carolina Wren up here, that I kind of know what I'm looking for. It's also much more challenging to me to know which birds I have good pictures of, and which ones that I am in need of capturing with my camera.

Maybe some day birds will become as interesting to you as they are to me and you'll start to learn the names, habits, and habitats of birds etc. For now, keep up the good work on getting pictures of them. They were all lovely.

Looking closer it is interesting the Birds like some of the same perches,,,,the fork in the branch and the lone branch have the same beautifully blown out backgrounds,,,do you handheld your shots or already have the camera on a tripod and pre focused ??? Either way Beautifully Done !!!

Thanks very much for stopping by and the supportive comment.

Don't tell anyone, but the reason they like those branches is because they are attached to the feeder. The feeder is portable which allows me to choose my background, at least to some degree. Heavy lenses are always used on a tripod. The Nikkor 200 - 500 is hand held about 50% of the time.
