The photos of the owl flying are sharp and clear. That is tough to do. Great job at this capture. I'm jealous.

Thanks so much for your kind comments. Been waiting along time to get shots of a snowy owl.

Great shots.

I hope to capture one that's about an hour from where I live, but it's still early in the season for that particular owl.

If I could make a suggestion, on the 2 full bird portraits of the owl sitting on the fence post, they're both slightly over exposed.

Did you bracket the shots? Set your camera for a specific exposure and take your shot, then immediately press your + button and snap a shot, then press your - button and take the shot, this will over expose, then under expose the shots from your original settings? If not, I would set your camera up to do this. Sometimes you'll want a one or two stop difference in the setting.
Great shots. br br I hope to capture one that's... (show quote)

Thanks Szalajj just got this lens and first time out with it. Have to make a few adjustments.

Nice. They are so white and bright, I'd think metering could be difficult. Did you use spot metering?

It was a bit difficult especially working around 20 other photographers in such a tight place. Was nice of farmer to let us on his land for this. But had to stay within confines of fence up the road. Did use matrix metering.

Cool shots Jack. What a score finding a Snowy!!! Gary

Thanks Gary. I was lucky that a friend turned me on to this location and he and I went down to shoot it. Both of us was our first time here and got lost. Lucky for us his friend got us to where we needed to be.

Great shots, Jack. I know what a thrill it must have been for you. I drove for five hours (one way) to get shots of the Snowy Owls in Nova Scotia (2016). It was worth the effort. Cheers!

Hi Harold and thank you. It was definitely a thrill. It's an hour and a half drive from home and well worth it. May go back down this Saturday.

Awesome shots, particularly the in-flight ones. If you don't mind sharing, what were the camera settings for these?

Thanks gpellisier they were shot P mode and I believe ISO was 1000. I'd have to check for sure. I used different modes playing with this lens.
