Several shots from this week. B&W.
Yesterday morning it was very foggy and so I took the camera out and finished another roll of Eastman 5222. I developed it in D96H for Time + 20% due to the conditions being very flat.
All were printed on Adorama paper and dev'd in Ilford Developer.
Shot #1 is my neighbor Fred. I know it's out of focus but I love it.
Shot #2 is Gracie my Pug making a funny face.
Shot #3 is my wife, Leigh with her Olympus Trip 35.
Shot #4 is a decorative bucket in someone's yard at the end of my street. I burned the edges in a bit just for practice.
All good. Pug is my favorite. I am a huge fan of black and white film. Thanks for sharing.
What is Eastman 5222 film, it's characteristics. What is it supposed to do that tri-x & the rest do? What is D96H developer. How does it differ from D-76 etc. Id like to see shots taken in sunlight. ken

Eastman 5222 is also called "Double-X"; you may have heard of it referred to that way. It's a film that's been around a long time, it's commonly used in cinema; Schindler's List was filmed with Double-X, the first part of Casino Royale (the Bond movie) also. It's not better or worse than Tri-X or anything else, just a bit different, however I think that it has less latitude than HP5 or Tri-X and also it's not as pushable, so in that regard, you are more limited in using it. I bought a 400' roll directly from Kodak so I could see how I like it, that was the only way to make it affordable. Once it's gone, I'll just use HP5+ or Kentmere 400.
For 400' it came out to $68.00 per 100' which is about what HP5+ is and Tri-X is much higher. (I wish it wasn't.)
D96 is the officially recommended developer for Double-X and it's very close to D76.
The formulas are:
D96:
1 Liter batch
Metol/Elon 1.5 grams
Sodium Sulphite (anhydrous) 75 grams
Hydroquinone 1.5 grams
Potassium Bromide 0.4 gram
Borax 4.5 grams
And D76's formula is:
1 Liter batch
Metol, 2.5 g
Sodium sulfite, 100.0 g
Borax, 2.0 g

Nice. I like the dog shot best.
I really like your B&W, you don't see it much anymore. Keep up the good work.
