Lately I have been think have film camera become a thing of the past. Looking on Main Photography Discussion I see none about film camera. I put up for sale a Mamiya C330, which was in very good conduction , I was asking $200 for it. Had 1420 views on it, but not one person asking about the camera. I like film cameras and use them, people look at me if I was from another time period when I have one of my film cameras with me. So is my Pentax K1000, Canon AE-1 & AE-1 Program, Nikon F, Leica IIIb. Two Retina cameras I have and other cameras on their to trash can of history? PS: The Mamiya C330 was sold to a local person, who got wind that I it for sale.
I only have 28 35mm SLR's and some others totalling 42. I still use some of them.
I still use my ae1-p and minolta a-7, but not very often.
There's quite a number of film shooters and darkroom denizens on the Hog.
Well, film cameras are from another time period but that doesn't mean people don't shoot film anymore. I was thinking about getting one myself.

Quinn, I loved film and the ability to make Archival Black and White Prints. I gave up film when I was no longer able to buy the film I liked, the developer I liked and the Archival Double weight paper. My son is a hybrid. He develops the film and scans it and goes from that point forward.
I had a Leica 3C with a collapsable Elmar that I loved. Miss it very much. What lens you have on your 3B?

Currently I own two SLRs and one DSLR. I use film on occasion, but don't feel a drive to talk about that.
I have 4 film cameras and shoot anywhere from 1 to 4 rolls per month. My EOS 1v is used more than all the manual focus bodies combined because I can mount my EF lenses interchangeably between the digital and this EOS film body. The manual focus lenses and bodies are more purpose specific.
The supply of old film cameras greatly exceeds the demand, even if film is making a come back. Regardless of the value and use to the current owner, there's demand and interest for purchase for only the highest-end and / or historically significant film bodies ... Most of the rest can be had for pennies or simply given away ...

Yes we only need film and processing services or materials but not any film camera. We have way too many perfectly good film cameras on the used market plus some that can be bought new like the Nikon F6.
PixelStan77: I have three lens for my Leica IIIb- Ernstleitz Wetzlar Simmsr 1:2/50mm which is a collapsible lens. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar 1:4/90 mm lens. Canon 1:3.5/135mm lens. Had the Canon 135mm on the camera, found it to make the camera hard to handed. No problem with the 50mm or 90mm lens. The 50mm lens is set in meters not feet, so is the 90mm lens. Canon has both meter and feet.

I loved my Ernsteitz Wetzlar Elmar. You may have motivated me to get back in film.
At that price for a "Kickstart" Camera I could get Leica series camera, Zeiss Contax series camera, Nikon F series camera, and other top end cameras.
All I shoot is film. Took a walk this morning and shot two rolls before work.
One roll of Tri-x in my Nikon Fm2n w/ 24mm f/2.8 and the other a roll of Eastman XX in my Olympus Trip 35.

Do you also develop and print it?
