and what can management do? that would not be violating their constitutional rights?

One has to understand Constitutional rights. It is between the government and the people, not people and people or employers and employees. There is no constitutional rights on that field like freedom of speech. You dis your employer you could get fired on the spot or after a company hearing. There is no law in the land that would get your job back on Constitutional rights. Actually the NFL does have rules in place that says what is going on, is against being an employee. It is their choice to enforce it or not. E.g. Tim Tebow knelt to pray and they stopped him from kneeling or he was to face consequences. Yet here they are not holding anyone to consequences. Their actions on the field are regulated. No spiking the ball like they use to do, No un-official patches, logos or other paraphernalia is to be worn on their uniforms, helmets, or shoes, etc. There is no freedom of speech on that field.

Perhaps the draft could be reinstated and only the ones kneeling could get drafted and then deployed to Afghanistan. Maybe then they would understand the price of our freedoms

I don't believe so. They have practiced so much that they would only kneel to protest as an enemy came at them. Why waste the money to train them, to eventually do that. Their true character is showing through. Gutless wonders!

And just what “Constitutional Rights” would this be? The Bill of Rights says the Federal Governmement can’t infringe your Right to Free Speech, and the 14th Amendment applies that to State Governments! It does not apply to the NFL! Period. The owners can dictate what players do while they are working for them. Other industries do. No balls in the boardroom!

I’m a life-long Colts fan. I can’t really say anything except thank the football gods for the Browns.

There are lots NFL rules against these kinds of activities the commissioner just won’t enforce them because he’s a coward. These that protest most I think most just follow others and don’t have any idea of their own. The Rufuss that started this nonsense his gripe was as he claims it was police injustice, and now it’s every thing and every excuse that someone can think of, it’s become silly. The players on these teams are paid employees when on the field, do you think you would have your JOB if you got up in you office and protested some BS thing I don’t think so you might be fired or put on some type of disiplanary action, so don’t give me this BS about your constitutional rights.

Your “Ruffus” comment is all I need to tell me where you’re coming from and what your problem is with the players who kneel.

Proof that even I can make the occasional mistake. Unlike you, I rarely if ever, make the same one twice. The correct spelling is Rufus.

Of course it is, my mistake was the two f's and the extra "s" in the first place enough said, the point with dash was used to exaggerate the word. but of course you are the SPELLING POLICE for the hog you make to much to do out of nothing, "Have a nice life"........

Not the spelling police, just a futile attempt at education.

The Colts were never anybody but the Colts from their start in 1953. When they moved to Indy, the Browns moved to Baltimore under a different name as you know. If I’m not mistaken, the NFL would only agree to the move if the Browns name stayed in Cleveland. As for the Orioles, they started out as the Milwaukee Brewers in 1901, moved to St Louis, became the Browns and after Bill Veck sold them, to Baltimore as the Os. I only think about them when they play against the Yankees.
