Nikon D750 price

I am in the market for the Nikon D750. Planning to purchase new and price recently dropped significantly to ~$1496 for the body only at B&H and others. Is this price drop likely to stick through the New Year or are these truly Black Friday sale prices. Everyone is advertising the prices that way but curious if the price will likely stay in this range. Only asking if anyone has seen similar drops in past years and whether they tend to be permanent or are actual Holiday sales prices.

Thanks.

Jeff

May sound crazy, but call B&H and ask them. They have always been pretty honest with opinions and never tried selling me anything I didn't want or need. It cannot hurt. But on another note; the D750 is a great camera.

They don't tend to be permanent. If you want one I don't think the price will go any lower for a brand new one. Remember with the current price the D750 price is lower than the D610 because for the $1500 you get the free battery grip with the D750.

If you're considering a D750 you might want to wait a little longer. The D750 was announced in Sept. 2014. There's a good chance its replacement will be announced at the upcoming CES show Jan.9-12.

That's a very good price, about what I sold my used one for on ebay. There's no way to know how pricing will go, but older cameras tend not to increase in price. Amazon has it for the same price, so it's probably universal.

Big drop in price -

I do think that a newer model would be introduced some time in 2018 and if the OP wants the latest then he should wait. If he wants a brand new D750 for the lowest price now is the time. Nikon is likely to raise the price of the D750 before they introduce the replacement for about the same price and then drop the price to what it is now afterward. You can look up the price of the D810 and see. The D810 was selling for $2500 with grip back in late last year and early this year. Then the price went back up just before the introduction of the D850. Now Nikon gives free grip. There isn't a sales on the D610 so I think Nikon would discontinue it in the future with no replacement.

I pulled the trigger and bought. Thanks for everyone's input. From everything I've read, this should be a fun camera to use and grow with.
