As we all know, photography has as many, if not more, gadgets and widgets than scuba diving, firearms, motorcycles, cars, or airplanes. All places for us to spend, enhance, and enjoy.
I'm an accessory junkie and found two that I am considering.
The Arsenal Camera Assistant at $175. (https://witharsenal.com)
and
The Pluto Trigger at $119. (https://plutotrigger.com)
Folks, please take a look and give us your thoughts. Both are very cool and properly applied in the proper situation could significantly enhance our photographic scope.
My buying decision awaits your thoughts.
Thanks to all in advance!

As always, please have a Great Day!

I looked at the Arsenal Camera Assistant on line yesterday, and find it very interesting. The Pluto Trigger, I just click on your link, It does some things the Arsenal doesn't appear to do, so I could see buying both.
I have currently been using a CamRanger on my Nikon D810, you may want to check this one out as well. I have had very good luck with it, and it does transfer a low res jpg image to your phone. I set my camera up, attach the CamRanger and can sit in my car out of the weather and control my camera completely from a distance. I can change all my setting, event shoot in bulb mode. I can complete control everything from focus, aperture, white balance, and even control it in movie mode. But, I don't think it does what Pluto does and you are looking for it to trigger the shutter when someone walks past your camera, are if your are trying to catch lighting.

Wow, talk about fancy gadgets! I may be wrong, but it seems like these just make the process of taking pictures more complicated.

I am not a pro by any means but I kind of take pleasure in making my own adjustments and taking the photo. I like to just take photos on the spur of the moment and while arsenal could take photo results to another level, it just makes it look more complicated to me. If I were a professional or took photos for money or even planned ahead as to what I was going to shoot I would also consider it. The ultra high speed of Pluto Trigger is something neat but only if that fits your shooting pattern. I do have to laugh at the extremes, last week we had a couple of topics about going manual and this sure goes the opposite direction and both great topics! Thanks.

Having experience with all the things you quote in your first sentence..... hmmm. Anyway I think firearms is equally complex maybe more if you load your own ammo. And motorcycles, you haven’t done it right if you think there are a lack of accessories. But I digress.

Here are my thoughts about the two items.

First, all kickstarter advertisements look fantastic. They have to. Because they are soliciting invesment capital for their product. But unlike buying a stock or venture capital, you are only buying a product. If they are wildly successful you get the product, but no other gain. And some actually pan out. But many more do not. So just keep that in perspective and consider any money invested in a kickstarter project to be high risk. But if you have the money and you like the idea, and you don’t mind the risk, then go for it. If not wait and see if they succeed before buying.

Re the PlutoTrigger. I am not clear on exactly what it does that I could not do given some time learning how to program my DSLR. Maybe you prefer programming via your phone? If so give it a shot.
