Obamacare signups top 2 million, exceeding expectations despite Trump’s attempts to dump the plan
Despite President Trump’s contempt for Obamacare, more than 2 million people have signed up for it so far this month.
Open enrollment for the plan — the time of year when people can sign up for
insurance through state exchanges on Healthcare.gov — has seen just under
2.3 million signups or renewals between Nov. 1 and Nov. 18, according to
figures the Department of Health and Human Services released. Signups spiked
in the third week of enrollment, with some 798,829 people picking plans using
the website.
The figures are outpacing expectations, according to experts who spoke to The Hill.
The spike comes even after Trump slashed the advertising budget for the program,
cut the enrollment period in half and stopping paying subsidies to companies to help
keep prices low for lower-income people.

Ummmm... maybe it's because Obamacare is still law and still mandatory to have insurance?
