Printing TIFF vs. JPG
I just went through this section and didn't find anything current on this topic - printing TIFF vs. JPG.
I use a Canon Pro 100 using Canon Pro Luster paper. I'm going to be printing some team pictures and have them available in TIFF format. I'm able to convert to JPG, but was wondering if there is any differences that I should be aware of. Will be printing 5x7 on 5x7 stock & 8x10 on 8.5x11 stock.
All the discussions seem to be several years old, so my question; has anything changed?
Thanks
I would print what ever looks better from your printer. I print from Lightroom and am printing to my Pro-100 using Lightroom to print from an adjusted RAW file. There is no JPG or TIFF involved. If you are making these available to others to print on their own then maybe both should be available - large TIFF files would probably allow more adjustment if that is needed by others trying to print these images.
I have both jpegs and tiffs of all my images to print. I normally print from the TIFF's. No reason. I just do. I use the jpegs to send out for printing.
A 5jX7 costs about 30 cents to print. Print both and see which you like.
