I saved over a thousand shots, culled down from even more, on a recent Mediterranean cruise. My wife said, no more photo albums. What do you all do with your photos, after you enjoyed taking them and culling out the really awful "mistakes?"

I leave them on the computer and only print as needed.
(The computer is my "photo album".)

Ditto. Backed up, of course. Also the better ones are on smugmug.

Same thing we did with our photo albums. Look at them once, show to friends and neighbors once, then stuff them in a corner never to be looked at again :-)

Post them on facebook and flickr. Sometimes email them.

I pick out the very best, print them and organize them into photo albums on a rainy day.
For me, if an image is not worth printing, it's not worth keeping.

Having all those images on my computer reminds me of the days we would set up a slide projector and show off our trip to friends. So boring. This trip, I tried to cull out the bad shots and put everything in the cloud and sent invitations for friends/relatives to view.

Formerly I kept my slides in trays. Now I keep them on my computer in folders. Same idea. If an image is not worth looking at on occasion, it's not worth keeping, but no reason to waste the trees printing them.

I some times take the photos and do a photo books to sit on coffee table. I also mounted a photo viewer on the wall and you can put your pictures on it or a flash drive it has a usb slot. I some times let it run all day showing my pictures. Hope this helps.

I have been making Photo Books since 1996; first in Apple and now in Blurb through Lightroom. In most cases they were subject of a particular vacation/cruise. I've done Alaska, Hawaii, a Danube River Cruise and this year I combined three trips into The 2017 Vacations. I have seventeen altogether and they get frequent use to show the places we've been and no one has "slept through the proverbial slide show". Next year is a Viking Ocean cruise from Barcelona to other ports in Spain, Portugal, France, England, Belgium and Norway finishing with three days in Iceland-21 days altogether with my D810 and some Zeiss primes. You do, however, have to learn to be a "ruthless" editor of your own and friends work in included.

I trade out my desktop background every few weeks to enjoy. Or set it as my phone background, esp. family photos so I can see them often.

I organize my files according to their intended purpose. I back up multiple copies of raw files and edited finals. I access them if I need them for a particular purpose or to rework with newer software.

Client files archived and the best are printed for photo portfolio or showing on tablet or web. Our archived best vacation pics and personal favorites are copied to low res jpegs for our work and home PCs as random rotating backgrounds in Windows. I don't normally print personal photos into albums unless it's a special event type of project. Don't usually subject friends to vacation photos.

I found some low-cost frames at A C Moore and ordered mounting board from Golden State Art ... have not filled the first batch yet but, plan to leave the photos in the mount and change them in the frame when I get bored ... I only mount the ones that I like ...

I have an electronic picture that I run when I'm working ... and, of course, our cell phones and Kindles!

I catalog all ‘keepers’ in Lightroom. Some get printed eventually. Some eventually will be used in photo books. I can also prepare slide shows. Couple years ago, I created a book titled “My First Five Years” for our grand-daughter which employed images I had taken of her during her life. It isn’t uncommon to pull out older images to create composites. I also create Collections (think albums) of images on a given subject that I’ve taken through the years.

This list goes on and on, and my library supports all of it.

If you have access to bulk printing places (Costco or online, especially when on sale) where a 4x6 might only cost you 20 cents, consider printing a bunch and then donating to places that can use for making cards or other crafts projects: senior centers, assisted living, low income child care facilities.

Of course you're still stuck with the digital copy
