Bunker did not want me to interrupt his nap with that infernal clicky thing. I got him to open his eyes; but move and strike a pose.....no deal. All comments welcome.

The tight crop and the dof you chose work well for me. I think oyu really captured his attitude in this shot.

Thank you. I take a lot of photos of my dog, and am usually a bit reluctant to post them. Most are just another pet portrait. This one appealed to me, though, and I thought it might appeal to someone who didn't know the dog as well. Thanks for your input.

I too like the dof chosen Erich. Think I’d remove the black and white specks in his eye (not the catchlight, obviously) and perhaps try bringing the other eye out of the shadow a little - I’d have to see it to say which way was best though.
Lovely ol’ fella for sure.

Good idea. why didn't I think of getting rid of those specs. Maybe because, when you look at things too long, you just get used to seeing what is there. I did think about lightening the other eye. but decided against it. I kind of like the contrast. Thanks for your input.

I think I tend to agree with bringing up just a touch of Bunker left side detail.....I can relate to the look of his right eye as I use to wake up looking like that every great once in awhile in my younger day.....

I've been trying to get him to lay off the sauce; but we're out working most days, and you just don't know what the lad is going to get into. lol

You got him at a candid moment so you work with what is given. My only nit pic I find the nose being cut off a slight distraction. But not a deal breaker.

I can't remember if the original had more of his face or not. I should go back and check that out. Good point. Thanks for the input.

Those boxer eyes....! My Dottie hates it when I try to take her pic - I always have to bribe her. This pic is so sweet :D

Like this one for the close crop, it makes it not just another dog portrait and shows that Boxer personality. Screens vary but I have to agree with those who would like the left eye area a bit lighter, but not much, just enough to see some detail.

I'm enjoying hearing from all of you. My wife had the dog checked (DNA) to see what he actually is. I always said that he looked like a boxer; but the science says: Bulldog, Dachshund and Pug. I must admit, that up close at least, he does look remarkably like a boxer. Thanks for taking a look. That left eye should be a bit brighter. I agree.
