I'm from beautiful western NY and I have a question for the more knowledgeable photographers on the forum. I am looking to purchase a used Canon T2i with 18-135 lens that has a "scratch" on the LCD screen. My questions are 1. is it possible to buffout the scratch
2. will this be a problem in the future on the screen,i.e. get worse.

Thanks for any and all info.

I don't know exactly what material the screen is made of but it likely will not be a problem if it is indeed a scratch and not a crack.

I've seen Ipods run just fine with screens totally shattered after being run over by a car. Of course those screens are protected by some pretty tough stuff but they are glass underneath.

So, scratch no problem, crack bad news. Buffing out may distort the look of the image and may weaken the entire screen. The scratch will not affect performance and you just use that screen to confirm your exposure so should be no problem.
