Searched this lens on UHH and only found some new release chatter but no actual user/owner feedback. So, can anyone who owns or who has had the occasion to use this lens provide some feedback/impressions/experience?

Not interested in feedback on the Sigma variable aperture f4.5-5.6 lens.

Thanks in advance!

If you click on an individual picture it opens up to about 50% of the size of the image, pretty good to evaluate details.

this is a pretty good review. I was researching wide zooms recently, and after the dust settled, I favored the tamron 15-30. I guess in some large part because the art lens doesnt take filters. Also, I have never used wider than 16. Im not interested in a fisheye look.

I know that you did not ask for this but I own the 12-24 DG II and one thing that I can tell you is that the lens is stupid wide and what is interesting is that as you move from 12 to 16mm where most superwides start the linear distortion becomes almost unnoticeable. The one thing I don't like about it or the Tammy is that because of the bubble face you can not use a regular filter, also that bubble front lens catches light and produces flare if you are shooting towards a light source, for those reasons I eventually purchased the Canon 16-35 f/4 so that I can use polarizing and ND filters.

For Blurryeyed: Thank you for writing a great review. In your short paragraph, I learned 2 or 3 things to watch out for, information about distortion, and your eventual choice. We should be writing more reviews like this, where people are doing more than supporting their own choices.
