I have been rearranging my hard drive and in the process put all my Lightroom Files into a common folder. This appears to have been a mistake.
When I now open a Lightroom file (ircat), the original photographs present themselves with the caption "The File Could Not Be Found". I assume the "file" referred to is any changes I made to the original (irdata). I seem to have destroyed the link Lightroom needs to connect one to the other. Is there a way to reestablish the link or do I have to reenter and reedit my photos?
Problem is solved! Thank you very much!
The Lightroom navigation window was hidden (to conserve desktop work space) and I forgot it was there. Duh!
You do not have Lightroom files. Lightroom is a cataloging software. I knows were your files are. It can arrange you files.

I moved my picture files into a common folder using the OS instead of using Lightroom. When I next used Lightroom it couldn’t find them.
