This is a shot I took in 1964. I have always liked it as it captures the feel of the day. This is a 35 mm slide taken with a Petri green window rangefinder camera. The ruin seen through the fog is called Ruine Windek. It was destroyed by Napoleon when he came through on his way to Russia or somewhere.

Nice shot. Not familiar with Weinheim. Wish I was. I was stationed in Kaiserslautern 69th Sig Co (Photo) 1967-68. May have to revisit some of my old slides.

I've been to Weinheim many times as the charity my wife worked for was headquartered in Bensheim just a couple of miles away and I was left alone to explore while she was in meetings. It's a lovely area and town.

Is it Weinheim or Wertheim I have been to Wertheim but not heard of Weinheim.

Weinheim is near Heidelberg and that is it’s name. It is a pretty city and also quite old. It was not damaged in the war so the old city is still intact....at least it was so in 1964. I passed by on the train in 2015 but couldn’t stop.
