Jimmy, I used to not like the Brown Truck post. But then I realized it was just people proud of what they got. No they didn't get a Nobel Prize or inducted into a Hall of Fame, they are just happy they got a new nifty fifty, it's just clean innocent fun, probably from people that don't always get to have fun. Maybe they're in a wheel chair or maybe a $200 lens is a big deal to them! Just say "great for you", and move on......
So I embrace the Brown Trucks, not scrooge them, have a little compassion, the holidays are coming up.

I am a very lucky guy! I got to make a living doing what I love to do. I enjoy my job simply because it is fun and I enjoy watching other folks enjoying their photography too! For me, it's a pleasure to get up in the morning and go to work every day. I love to do portrait work because I love people. I get a kick out of commercial work because it is interesting, and changeling- lots of problem solving. I like to shoot weddings because they are festive,multicultural and romantic and I get to see and photograph folks at their best-celebrating and having a good time. I even got to do photography in the army- over in Viet Nam- OK there were some nasty folks shootin' at us but and I saw allot of grief but my work helped me get through it all and come back to the world. I have been teaching and training new photographers for a long time- I love to help folks and share my experience. After work I post here on this site- I enjoy that too- at least most of the time. I try to be an artist, I like the science and technology and admittedly, I like to tinker with all the cool gear and gadgets- I buy lots of that stuff- my wife thinks I am insane! So...I don't smoke or drink or smoke or shoot or drop dope- that saves us some money.I'm a happy old dude when the "Brown Truck" pulls into the driveway! Well- Fed-X has a white truck!

So, friends, for the life of me, I can't figure out why SOME folks around here are so damn negative and get on line here and do nothing but bitch, complain, bicker, cuss, yell at each other and carry on like a bunch of babies and drama kings and queens when they should be having fin and enjoying life.

I'll tell y'all what I don't like and what ain't any fun. I don't enjoy watching folks bullying and demeaning each other. If you disagree with someone, why not just state your case, make make your points and move forward rather that attacking and negatively criticizing the other person's, intellect, comprehension, personality or philosophy and tossing around sarcastic and snide remarks just because he or she has a different point of view or an alternative opinion. Nothing wrong with a lively debate- now THAT is fun!
