Fun with Flash

Taking my boys out for some photography fun. Playing around with off camera flash and trying to create symmetry, cool shadowing etc. Probably should have spent more time in LR fixing distortion so all the lines are symmetrical.
This was only 2 off camera speedlights. 1 in the rafters and 1 behind the subject.

Please post any cool flash photos in this thread and describe the tech and conposition. Love to learn from others ideas....

crazydaddio Here is an example in close up of the use of two flashes. One manual flash high to the left and very slightly behind the flower. Then using the cameras popup flash set to manual and down very low in output, with the purpose of triggering the back flash and supplying enough fill just to round out the light relationship to the back flash to give a tiny fill light. To ascertain the value of each without a flash meter just fire a few shots changing values until it meets your taste. Very easy in digital, when you have arrived at what you feel is your perfection, erase the unused ones. Thanks for looking. RBorud

Very dramatic lighting. I love it when photographers experiment and get creative. The high contrast really pops out the flower. Two thumbs up!
