How folks, I've been a member of Ugly Hedgehog for a few years but have never posted anything but I've learned a lot from the group.
Seeing how good everyone is makes me a little nervous about posting any pictures I've taken but today I've decided to post my first picture
I don't know if this is the place to ask and if it's not, I'm sorry. I took this picture this summer of a young bird sitting on a rock in New Brunswick,
and I was wondering if anyone may have any idea on what kind it is. I know it's just a baby and I thought it was cute in it's own kind of way. Thank you for any help you can give me and again if this is not the place to ask, I'm sorry.

Nice capture. Little guy looks cold all fluffed up.
Thank you. He wasn't cold because it was nice and warm out and he was pretty brave for such a brave guy.
Sorry, I meant to say, little guy.
I doubt you remember Rick Nelson's song, "Garden Party" but there's a line in there that I love. It pertains not only to photos but life in general: "...It's alright now. I learned one lesson well. You can't please everyone so you gotta please yourself." I have folks tell me that I oversaturate my photos. Well, I like 'em like that so I just keep on over saturating.
From the face it could be a baby Robin. Beautiful shot.

I cannot be absolute about this, but this nestling looks a lot like one found on the ground by a neighbor’s child whom I instructed in the art of baby bird feeding. His efforts were supremely successful and, as I suspected it would, grew into a very self-respecting blue jay.
The clues I took are seen in this one: shape of beak, jet black flight feathers and a blue-grey color of the unsheathed pin-feathers on the head .
An informed guess is the best I can do.
A good, informative, documentary image, by the way!

Based on what you pointed out I did some web surfing. I do believe you nailed it.

Thanks for posting, I am in agreement with Uuglypher, looks like a baby blue jay to me. Keep posting. I posted my first picture a couple of days ago after about two years of lurking. Picked the wrong photo number out of the file and the picture of course was one where the focus was soft. Nobody ate me up and I will try again later. Have a great day.

I'm not sure about the ID, but it's sure cute. I think you should continue to post. This is a really fine start.
Good start! UHH can use some Halifax input.
Thank you everyone for your comments and for your help. I guess it might be time to get off the pot and start posting pictures to get real feedback.
