Gilma Silva is a Brazilian Photographer https://www.facebook.com/gilmarsilvafotografia/

These photographs are showing up all over and show his brilliant use of location to take some pretty decent portrait shots

The original article is here https://www.boredpanda.com/photography-behind-the-scenes-gilmar-silva/

but i thought they might be more useful for inspiration as a pdf file. There are some pretty clever ideas which transform the locations.

That's an area that I'd really like to get better with. I am always spending tons of time looking for "perfect" locations, that aren't already overrun with 50+ other local photographers doing the same thing. I literally thought I had found the perfect place, I had never heard of it, and it was only about 4 miles from my home. I visited it during the day, and it was literally abandoned. When we got there about 1.5 hours before sunset, there were literally 20 other photographers vying for position in front of some of the shots I had envisioned.

If I had the skill to envision amazing backgrounds from the mundane, I'd be ahead of the game in so many ways.
