Oh, do say more about how you shot and produced it? It’s a very haunting image.

1) Take any photo you want to do this to and make a B&W out of it.
2) Use Photoshop or another similar program that uses layers, masks and brushes.
3) Download a set of Brushes
https://xresch.deviantart.com/art/22-Normal-Smoke-Brushes-197982419

Load brushes into Photoshop
Open up a new file about 12 x 12 or so in Photoshop and set background to white
Bring in your B&W photo as a layer and layer it above the white background layer. Make it smaller than the background area
Add a black mask to the B&W image
Change brush tool to one of the new smoke brushes
Make sure color for brush is white and start painting over the black mask. You might want to change the opacity of the brush at times other than 100%
Image will now start to appear
If an area needs more detail you can change a brush to soft round and paint over that area, example eyes
When painting with the smoke brushes change the several times while painting and rotating image also "R" key will let you rotate image.

Make a final crop and you are done.

If you want to change the background other than white add a layer between background and image layer. Do whatever you want to that layer and it will be your background.

Thanks, Jim. While I'm rolling around the South this winter, I hope to spend more time trying out things like this. I'll put on my calendar to come back here and refresh my memory.
Regards,
Reid

It's a beautiful and haunting image. Looks a little like Medusa on one of her laid back days.

Thank you, I agree I think the picture is a bit haunting, hopefully in a good way. I have grown more fond of this picture since first posted.
