Scanners for Digitising Photographs.
I agree with Jerry. I have an Epson V700 scanner and it incredible for old negatives. I also scanned in old pictures...I scanned in 5x7' wedding pics from over 40 years ago and they came our like new...I realized why I married my wife.
This is a picture of my childhood home taken with an Ansco 35mm film camera in 1955 when I was 12. I photographed the 35mm negative with a light pad and 90 mm macro lens. If you view the download you will be amazed at the captured detail including milk bottles on the back door! This technique has worked really well but does take about 1 minute per negative including shooting, downloading, and inverting. Unfortunately this image had an unclean negative and glass...I later redid this image resolving those issues seen in the sky, but it does underscore the main problem with scanning or photographing film, dust, and dirt!
Epson makes a scanner just for bulk scanning of prints. Not sure of the number but it retails for about $600 USD and scans several 4x6 prints per minute. I saw it in our local Best Buy. Been out about a year. It's advertised as The Fastest print scanner made. Also scans documents and panoramic photographs.
Epson Fast Foto FF-640 seems to go for $549.00 USD.

Those issues are exactly why the EPSON with ICE etc. are so excellent as they eliminate most of those issues in the scan.

Tinplater, very impressive! Very nice work...a lot of work, but the end result is worth it.
